Public Perception of Workplace Discrimination
In 2025, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts in the UK are navigating a complex landscape marked by both progress and challenges.
A recent YouGov survey reveals that perceptions of job discrimination vary across different groups:
-
Disabled individuals: 69% of Britons believe they face high or moderate discrimination in employment.
-
Older individuals: 62% perceive significant discrimination.
-
Transgender people: 58% are seen as facing considerable job discrimination.
-
Ethnic minorities: 53% of the general public, and 72% of ethnic minority Britons themselves, believe they encounter substantial discrimination in the job market.
